The status report lists current, known issues with Online Library resources.

Service Disruption: 29th June- 3rd July 2018

Due to the move to the University's new SA1 campus there will be disruption to our online services between 29th June-3rd July. 

  • Online Library: There may be temporary disruption to Online Library resources during this period for on-campus and off-campus users.  Users based at our Swansea campuses may be unable to access the Online Library during this time.
  • Self-Service: There may be temporary disruption to self-service facilities in our campus libraries during this period.
  • Library Catalogue: The Library Catalogue should be available to search as usual but you may be unable to sign in to view, reserve and renew loans during this time. The link to the catalogue may be affected - if the catalogue becomes inaccessible at the usual URL you can try this alternative URL:  https://whel-primo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/primo_library/libweb/action/search.do?vid=44WHELF_UWTSD_VU1. For assistance with your library account, renewals and reservations please contact us.  

23/04/2018: Library Catalogue [Now Resolved]

We are currently experiencing issues with the Library Catalogue, which is intermittently returning no search results and displaying the following error: "Due to temporary technical problem the result list may be incomplete. Please try again soon"

The issue has been reported to our software providers and we hope to restore full service shortly. Please contact your campus library for assistance if you are experiencing difficulties with locating resources.

ProQuest Ebook Central - Scheduled maintenance Sunday 22/04/2018 3.00am - 8.00am

To maintain the currency and security of ProQuest ebook platforms Ebook Central will be unavailable for approximately 5 hours on the above date.

12/02/2018 Problems accessing eResources [Now resolved]

Update: A new security certificate has been installed by IT, users should now be able to access resources without getting messages about privacy issues.  

When trying to access certain eResources via the library catalogue or website users may get a message stating that 'your connection is not private'.  This is due to a problem with the Security Certificate and IT have been made aware of the issue.  

To access resources click on the 'advanced' link and then click  'proceed to <link> (unsafe)'.

28/01/2018  ProQuest scheduled maintenance 3am - 11am

Due to essential scheduled maintenance all ProQuest databases (Proquest Central, ABI/Inform, Periodicals Archive Online) and Refworks will be unavailable on Sunday 28 January between 3am and 11am.

20/01/2018 ProQuest Ebook Central - Scheduled Maintenance 6pm -12am

Due to essential scheduled maintenance the Proquest Ebook Central service will be unavailable for 6 hours on Saturday 20 January, between 6.00pm and 12.00am. Ebooks from other providers are not affected.

03/11/2017 DawsonEra eBooks [Update]

Issue: Cannot download ebooks onto iOS devices. 

The issue with Downloading to iOS devices has now been resolved.  You will need to download Bluefire reader from the App store before you begin the download process.  

08/10/2017: Online Library Maintenance [RESOLVED]

Due to essential maintenance, the Online Library will be unavailable for a short period on Sunday 8th October.  During this time, access to e-books, journals and other online resources will be disrupted and you may be unable to log-in.  Access to resources will be restored as soon as possible after this time.  Access to the Library Catalogue and the My Account screen to manage your library loans and reservations will be unaffected.

 02/10/2017: Library Catalogue [RESOLVED]

We are currently experiencing issues with the library catalogue which is not showing search results.  Our software provider is aware of the issue and is currently working on resolving it.

15/02/2017: Library Catalogue [RESOLVED]

 03/10/2016 : Log-in issues [RESOLVED]

Users based in Carmarthen or Lampeter campuses may have experienced problems logging in to Online Library resources between Friday 30th September and Monday 3rd October 2016.  This problem was caused by an interruption to our log-in server following a power cut.  Access was restored on Monday 3rd October at 12:00pm and users can now log in to resources successfully.

Issue: Flash articles do not display in the Online Library.
