Graduation season starts at UWTSD

02.07.2018

The first of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s graduation ceremonies took place at the University’s Carmarthen campus today (Monday, July 2nd).

Graduation

The graduation ceremonies offer an opportunity to celebrate the success, hard work and commitment of UWTSD’s graduates and gives the University community the chance to pay tribute to such dedication.

Addressing the graduands, UWTSD’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Medwin Hughes DL said:

“The Graduation Ceremonies mark the climax in the academic career of our students.  It is the result of hard work and commitment but we should also remember the support given by family and friends.

“Increasingly, our students come from a wide range of backgrounds, many returning to study after years of working.  We are also delighted to see students who have completed degrees by part-time study.

“I trust that you all will take with you the many friendships and happy memories of your time here, and that your educational experience will serve you well throughout your life.

“I wish you all success in your pursuit of a rewarding career and remind you that, as alumni of this University, we will endeavour to assist you and hope that you will keep in touch with us.  To those of you who will continue to study with us for higher qualifications, I wish you continued success.

“Today is your day.  Today, we mark your passing across this stage and we mark that you, every one of you, has reached a particular stage of development in your academic career.

“We stand here to honour you.  We stand here to mark your distinction.  And we come together to note that you are starting on a fantastic journey.  I should like to congratulate you all on your achievements and wish you every success for the future,” added Professor Hughes.
