The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) has once again increased its ranking in The Complete University Guide (CUG) 2019 league table.

The Complete University Guide features 131 institutions across the UK and is based on ten measures including 'Student Satisfaction', 'Student and Staff Ratio'; 'Graduate Prospects' and 'Completion and Spending on Student Facilities'.

Up 4 places from last year in the overall table, UWTSD scored particularly well in the ‘Student Satisfaction’ category, achieving a joint 26th position in the UK, up 25 places from last year.

For ‘Student Satisfaction’ CUG 2019 ranks UWTSD 2nd in the UK for Social Work, 3rd in the UK for Materials Technology, 6th in the UK for Classics & Ancient History, 7th in the UK for Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism, 7th in the UK for Marketing, 7th in the UK for Computer Science, joint 8th in the UK in Business and Management Studies, 12th in the UK for Philosophy, 15th in the UK for Education, and 1st in Wales for Archaeology.

UWTSD also gained a joint 28th position in the UK and joint first in Wales for its ‘facilities spend’ as well as a joint 43rd position in the UK for its ‘staff student ratio’.

Dr Mirjam Plantinga, the University's Associate Pro Vice Chancellor for Student Experience, said:

“The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) welcomes the news that we have risen 4 places in The Complete University Guide, an increase in ranking for the third year in a row.

Once again the results of this league table are extremely encouraging in relation to 'student satisfaction'.

The result of this latest league table confirms the results of the recent Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2018 which saw the university jump 32 places to 11th in the UK in the University of the Year category and the results of the Times Higher Student Experience Survey where the University gained a 7th overall in the UK and first in Wales for ‘academic experience’.

Scoring highly in relation to 'student satisfaction' is important to the university as this is a key area where we believe we are able to offer added value to all those studying with us.

As we do with every league table we will be looking at the results to help us identify areas for enhancement.  National league tables provide us with that vital feedback to help us ensure that we meet the needs of our students.”
