Swansea College of Art, UWTSD Photography Department announces new curatorial bursary with the Mission Gallery

Swansea College of Art, UWTSD Photography Department is pleased to announce a new curatorial bursary with the Mission Gallery, Swansea, which supports a current undergraduate student in curating an off-site exhibition in the city of Swansea.

Shortlisted applicants were invited to interview with Mission Gallery interim director Matthew Otten in December, and we are pleased to announce that second year photography in the arts student, Abby Poulson is this year’s bursary winner. Abby’s ambitious curatorial exhibition will open between April and May 2019.

As part of this award, Abby will be guided through the curatorial process by the team at Mission Gallery. Further mentorship will be provided by artists Jason and Becky, Fern Thomas, Owen Griffiths, Alexander Duncan and Aled Simons, alongside technical support from installation fabricator Eifion Porter.

Abby said: “I'm excited for this opportunity and I look forward to developing my knowledge and skills and engaging with new artists in preparation for this exhibition.”
