UWTSD shortlisted in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards ‘University of the Year’ category

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David has been shortlisted in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2019 (WUSCAs) ‘University of the Year’ category.

The Whatuni student rankings are based on averages taken from tens of thousands of reviews submitted by students and published on Whatuni.com.  Now in their sixth year, the WUSCAs recognise institutions for excellence in a wide variety of academic and social areas and offer prospective students a student-led alternative to traditional university ranking systems.

UWTSD has also been shortlisted for an award in WUSCA’s "Course and Lecturers" category.

Dr Mirjam Plantinga, the University's Associate Pro Vice Chancellor for Student Experience said: "We’re delighted to be shortlisted in two categories for the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2019 as these awards are voted for by students themselves.  We are particularly pleased with the news that we’ve been shortlisted in the University of the Year category.  We also very much welcome the nomination in the ‘Courses and Lectures’ category – an area which we really pride ourselves on. The quality of the student experience is central to our mission and we work in very close partnership with our students.”

Over the last six months, IDP Connect’s review collection team collected over 41,000 student reviews from 160 institutions and travelled more than 43,000 miles across the UK.   IDP Connect is a division of IDP Education, global leaders in student marketing and recruitment.  Katie Duncan, Head of Communications at IDP Connect said “In a challenging climate for Higher Education institutions, there is nothing more rewarding than being recognised by their students for delivering such positive experiences. The reviews by current students that make up these nominations are invaluable for prospective students who use them to make decisions about their future.”

The WUSCA 2019 Awards will be hosted by comedian Omid Djalili on April 25th at The Brewery in London.
