Alison Harding appointed as Chair of the Welsh Higher Education Libraries Forum

Alison Harding, Executive Head of Library and Learning Resources, has recently been elected as Chair of WHELF, the Welsh Higher Education Libraries Forum.

Alison Harding, Executive Head of Library and Learning Resources, has recently been elected as Chair of WHELF, the Welsh Higher Education Libraries Forum.

WHELF is the collaborative group of the higher education, knowledge management and research libraries in Wales. It aims to promote innovative professional practice and cooperation across our members’ library, knowledge and information services; providing a focus for the development of new ideas and services. Through the work of our members and through our wide range of Groups, WHELF enables and supports education, research, community engagement and the civic mission of our institutions. 

Alison Harding said: 'I am really looking forward to working more closely with WHELF colleagues to deliver on our current consortia priorities as outlined in our 2020 - 2024 Strategic Plan. This also offers the opportunity to advocate at the highest level for the key role our nations academic and research libraries play in our institutions and communities, as well as in the national and international arena." 

The current membership is all Welsh university libraries, the National Library of Wales, the National Museum Library, Natural Resources Wales, the Open University in Wales, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the NHS Libraries in Wales.
