The partnership has enabled the newly launched Academy of Sport and the Students’ Union, to bring football back officially to the University in the form of the UWTSD Football Club.

UWTSD’s Football Club is now based at Richmond Park, home of Carmarthen Town AFC, for its training and playing needs.

As part of this relationship, UWTSD are the main sponsor of the away shirt for Carmarthen Town AFC, and their chairman Jeff Thomas recently presented a jersey to UWTSD via Lee Tregoning, Head of the UWTSD Academy of Sport, and Jonathan Garcia, Head of Football at UWTSD Academy of Sport as a thank you.

Carmarthen Town AFC Chairman Jeff Thomas said:

“ Carmarthen Town AFC are delighted and excited at our continued partnership with UWTSD. I hope that some of the students will develop to play with our Club.”

Lee Tregoning Head of the UWTSD Academy of Sport commented:

“We are really pleased to continue to work in partnership with Carmarthen Town AFC, and I'd like to thank Carmarthen Town's chairman Jeff Thomas for all his help this year.
