Public Invited to University Lecture with Trevor Fishlock


Author and broadcaster Trevor Fishlock is the guest speaker at this year’s Cliff Tucker Memorial Lecture on the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s (UWTSD) Lampeter campus.

The general public are being invited to the lecture, entitled ‘Art, Love, and Money’, which takes place on Tuesday 18th March, starting at 7pm. Entry is free and refreshments will be provided. Anybody who would like to attend should call 01570 424704 or email

Trevor Fishlock is an author, broadcaster and journalist. As a foreign correspondence he has worked on assignments in over seventy counties for publications such as The Times and the Daily Telegraph. He has written books on Wales, India, Russia, America and on nineteenth-century exploration, and has presented more than 150 television programmes about life and history in Wales.

The Memorial Lecture is named after magistrate and politician Cliff Tucker, who was also an industrial executive with British Petroleum. He was educated at St David’s College in Lampeter, which became University of Wales, Lampeter, and more recently UWTSD. Following his death in 1993, at the age of eighty, he bequeathed the proceeds of his home to the University.

Cliff Tucker is commemorated at UWTSD through a history research degree scholarship in his name and through the construction of the Cliff Tucker Lecture Theatre.
