Every year UWTSD organises a residential summer school on the Lampeter Campus for all its distance learning postgraduates.

Students of all ages and backgrounds, and at all stages of their studies, come from all over the world to participate in this intensive three day event.

Tutors offer a range of sessions covering a variety of different research methods and approaches,  study skills, advice and ‘how to’ seminars, as well as encouraging students to present papers and talks on their own research be it for a module essay or preliminary research for an MA dissertation.

The summer school also offers students time for face-to-face tutorials with their module or course tutors. In the evening there are a variety of social events for those that want whilst further study is possible in the library, including a visit to the archives.

The summer school is a means to offer distance learning students a range of learning and teaching enhancement sessions alongside a little taste of what life as a residential student is like.
