Fully-funded MPhil/PhD Studentships in Complexity Systems for Health and Wellbeing

Cumberand Lodge Scholarship Scheme

Every year, Cumberland Lodge offers first and second year doctoral students studying at universities in the United Kingdom the chance to develop skills in communication, public engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration through a scholarship scheme.
 
Cumberland Lodge is an educational foundation that exists to promote the exchange of ideas and critical thinking on issues of social cohesion. We specialise in equipping and inspiring people to engage in constructive dialogue on the causes and effects of social divisions, to help people build more tolerant, peaceful and inclusive societies. We foster learning and creative thinking through:

  • Conferences, lectures and seminars with leading figures from public life
  • Mentoring schemes and scholarships for doctoral students, international students and early career researchers

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions

There are MSCA grants for all stages of a researcher's career, from PhD candidates to highly experienced researchers, which encourage transnational, intersectoral and interdisciplinary mobility. The MSCA will become the main EU programme for doctoral training, financing 25,000 PhDs.

ForSeaDiscovery

A Training Network for researchers, the project will generously support twelve fully funded PhD Fellows (Early Stage Researchers) and three Established Researchers at post-doctoral level. The project involves universities and businesses in Wales, England, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, France, Denmark and Sweden. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration. The overall research objective is to compile historic literature and archival information about timber for nautical use in shipbuilding in Atlantic Iberia in the 16th – 17th centuries (such as contemporary shipbuilding treatises), to compare this information with archaeological data from previously excavated and researched Iberian shipwrecks, to collect samples and/or data from relevant, accessible ship timber assemblages held in storage, and with selected in situ shipwrecks which will be subjected to survey and analysis, to test the range of scientific approaches to timber characterisation, dating and provenancing being pursued in related work packages.

KESS II

The Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarships is a major European Convergence programme led by Bangor University on behalf of the Welsh higher education sector. KESS offers collaborative research projects (Research Masters and PhD) linked with a local company partner, with scholarships supported by ESF funding. We work across Wales, with all of the Welsh Universities involved in the project.

AHRC | Collaborative Doctoral Training Centre in the Celtic Languages

The collaborative Centre for Doctoral Training in the Celtic Languages is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council for the period 2014-19, and will manage over that period doctoral scholarships and training programmes in Celtic Languages, Literature and Cultures.

Wales Centre for Advanced Batch Manufacture

The Wales Centre For Advanced Batch Manufacture, known as CBM has been jointly established by the University of Wales and University Trinity St David, and is a core component of the Innovation Quarter in the University’s SA1 development.  We drive innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship among companies engaged in new product development and low-volume manufacturing.
