Rachel Phillips
Rachel Phillips has been a practicing architectural glass artist and lecturer at the Faculty of Art and Design at UWTSD since graduating in 2000.
Rachel has designed and made many glass commissions for private, public and ecclesiastical buildings in this time, including World Heritage Sites and has extensive experience of working in collaboration with other artists, studios and professional bodies such as CADW, Gwalia, Family Housing Association Wales and Diocesan Advisory Committees.
Rachel specializes in the practice and teaching of glass painting and is interested in the application of traditional stained glass techniques and materials in a contemporary context. She is also interested in the nature of creative collaboration and its impact on the development of stained and architectural glass work.
Rachel is currently developing an innovative stained glass studio-based training approach in collaboration with industry partners.
