Gudrun Jones

Art Therapist, Hywel Dda University Health Board

Gudrun Jones started her career as a freelance textile artist. After training in Art Therapy Jones worked as an Art Therapist for Meirionydd Mental Health Team, Oncology and Palliative Care Team, Ceredigion and now is an Art Therapist with Mental Health Services Pembrokeshire and Derwen NHS Trust. Jones has been published in the International journal for Palliative Nursing 2007 and 2009, and News Pad, the British Association of Art Therapy Journal 2016.

Jones currently runs an Art Therapy group for immunosuppressed patients through tele-health technology.

Jones first used video conferencing technology some 12 years ago, providing supervision to an Art Therapist working in palliative care some 85 miles away.

In 2014, Jones was involved with a research study - Tele-health Technology in Palliative Care with Joseph Keenan, a PhD student from the Psychology Department at the University.

Since the spring of 2016, Jones has been involved in the study- ‘Tele-health to facilitate group psychological support for immunosuppressed patients’. Rahman R (2016). This has been the first Art Therapy group that she has run using tele-health
