Will Oliver

Assistant Director of Therapies and Health Science, Hywel Dda University Health Board

Will qualified from Bath School of Physiotherapy in 1987. He worked in Cardiff and Merthyr Tydfil, specialising in Respiratory care and eventually becoming the adult Cystic Fibrosis specialist Physiotherapist at the CF unit in Llandough Hospital in Cardiff. In 1996, he joined the lecturing staff at the School of Physiotherapy, University of Wales College of Medicine. Moving with his family to West Wales in 2004, he secured the role of Professional Advisor for Allied Health Professionals at Health Professions Wales, moving to the Workforce Development Unit in the National Leadership and Innovation Agency for Healthcare (NLIAH) in 2005. Here, he undertook senior management roles as Workforce Modernisation Manager and Education Contracting Manager, contributing to a wide range of multi-professional workforce development activities, projects and policy developments. He was appointed to his current role in 2010, supporting the professional needs of a wide range of Therapies and Health Science staff. Will’s personal interest in Arts is through the performing arts, being a regular performer on the amateur scene in Pembrokeshire.
