Dr Errietta Bissa

The ancient world produced numerous historians, some of whom wrote works which have not only survived for thousands of years, but which have also exerted a considerable influence on generations of writers and thinkers, from antiquity to the present.  The study of ancient historiography involves not only the study of those great masterpieces of literature and their influence, but also of lesser known works and indeed even of lost ones, and is also a necessary precursor to the study of the ancient world as a whole.
