The medical signal processing group is currently undertaking several projects in the analysis of acoustic signals generated by the human body.
The group is researching various methods for the development of non-invasive diagnostic techniques to aid in the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). This work closely involves consultants at Singleton Hospital Swansea.
The group is also studying signals generated within the inner ear and is analysing the properties of middle ear pressure regulation to try to gain a more robust understanding of the significance of fractal dimensions within the signals. This work is in collaboration with Gloucester Royal NHS.
Staff participating in this research group includes:
- G Thomas
- Prof I Wells
- Dr K Palmer
- M Vanstone
- Gordon Dickers
- Dr J Beeton
