Role in the University

I work on various educational and linguistic projects that are part of Peniarth’s offering. From translation and proof-reading work to producing resources.

As a lecturer, I have taught on the Sabbatical Course and I’m a current lecturer on the BA Education course as a Welsh tutor. We offer language enhancing sessions for students while also introducing language and grammar teaching methodologies for the students to transfer to their careers as teachers.

Background

After nearly a decade working in the Welsh media with the company Tinopolis, presenting and researching on programmes such as Wedi 7, Heno, Siaradog and Sam ar y Sgrîn, I returned to academia to undertake a PhD in Welsh creative writing. As well as a career in the media, I have worked as a poet, author and creative practitioner since 2005 and have been Bardd Plant Cymru (2013-2015) in addition to publishing half a dozen volumes of my own work and translating a dozen books for children.

I joined the Welsh Language Services Centre in July 2021, working part time for the University as well as continuing to work as a poet.
