Within my role as coordinator, I am responsible for welcoming all new students to our Cardiff Skills For The Workplace CertHE. I am also the first contact for our Cardiff students and offer pastoral support throughout the programme.

As a lecturer, I teach a variety of academic modules each year both online and face to face.

Having started my career within Banking, I quickly climbed the ladder to become a successful Bank Manager where I led a branch to become the most successful within the region.

As the youngest Bank Manager in the company at the time, my reputation and success was extremely important to me which led me to develop and successfully implement effective Performance Management and Coaching techniques that helped lead to the success of the branch.

After successfully building an established reputation for my managerial roles and expanding my portfolio to include Area Sales Coach, I returned to education as a mature student to build my new career.

Since becoming an academic lecturer I have written and developed programmes and immersed my teaching to build in my industry experience.

  • Higher Education Academy (HEA)

I teach across a number of modules and have a number of academic interests.

I have particular interest in the following:

  • Professional Career Development
  • Accounting Fundamentals

I am currently reading for my PhD in Sustainability Leadership and my research interests are predominantly based around this at present.

Through independent research, presenting and networking at various public conferences, I am eager to develop my research around understanding the transition to sustainability leadership.

Areas of expertise include:

  • Managing People
  • Performance Management
  • Employability Skills
  • Academic Skills and Research methods
  • Coaching and development

I am in the early stages of working with local educators to develop their understanding of performance management within an education setting.
