Mrs Louise Holmes LLB (Joint Honours) Law and Politics, PG Dip (Legal Studies), PGCE (PCET)
To deliver the law modules within the public services portfolio.
In addition to being a lecturer of law at UWTSD I am also Supervising Solicitor within the litigation department of Graham Evans and Partners based in Swansea and have been a practising solicitor since 2001.
I currently specialise in compensation claims for personal injury and medical negligence. However, I have practised in a number of areas over the years, working for traditional high street firms as well as representing Trade Union members, and this breadth of experience in law is brought to my lecturing role.
I have been teaching since 2015 when I started the PGCE course.
I have taught law at a number of levels, including A-level and foundation courses for further education providers.
At UWTSD, I deliver on the CILEx modules that we provide for those students aiming for careers within law itself. I also deliver on the undergraduate programmes within the Public Services portfolio at Level 5 and 6.
Currently, the modules I deliver are amongst the subjects needed as part of the foundations of legal knowledge (for a Qualifying Law Degree, and Common Professional Examination/Graduate Diploma in Law), the Legal Practice Course Outcomes and the Day One Outcomes for the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme.
