Programme Director role ensure that:

  • Assessment tasks are in accordance with Programme of Study Handbooks
  • Arrangements are made with External Examiner
  • Second marking of samples of assessed work carried out
  • Arrangements are made for marking work due to tutor illness
  • Examination papers are prepared in accordance with University guidelines
  • Assessments are sent for approval by external examiner
  • Response is made to comments of external examiner
  • Assessment marks are submitted
  • Samples of assessed work are selected for scrutiny by the external examiner
  • Arrangements for feedback to students are  in place
  • Tutors undertake responsibilities
  • Student Services liaison occurs
  • Potential external examiners are approached

Having graduated in Psychology, I taught in a primary school, before training to become an Educational Psychologist. I worked in the Ceredigion Educational Psychology Service for twenty years, and was the Principal Educational Psychologist for 15 years. Between 2007 and 2011, I was also the Special Educational Needs Officer for the Local Authority.

In 2011, I was appointed by this University as a Welsh medium education lecturer, contributing to Welsh medium lecturing and tutoring on BA Education with QTS, BA Social Inclusion, BA Primary Education Studies and FDA Inclusive Studies for Teaching Assistants. In September 2013, I was appointed as Programme Director for BA Primary Education Studies.
