Retired Detective Chief Inspector (South Wales Police). Nationally Accredited Homicide & Serious Organised Crime Senior Investigation Officer (SIO).

Lecturing to both undergraduates (BSc) and post graduate (MA) students in Policing & Criminology

Peter was formerly a Detective Chief Inspector at the Specialist Crime Investigation Team of South Wales Police, His responsibilities included, the investigation of homicides and related serious and organised crimes. He was a career detective having spent all but Ten years of his service in the Criminal Investigation Department and related disciplines.

Peter was also an accredited Kidknap & Extortion SIO and was the lead officer in South Wales Police in this discipline.

In 2012 he was appointed as SIO within the Major Crime Investigation Team of South Wales. Peter has previously worked for over 10 years in the arena of child sexual abuse investigation. He has also investigated numerous Homicide and related serious crime investigations.

Peter was the SIO responsible for the investigation into the lead singer of the Lost Prophets rock band, Ian Watkins & 2 female accomplices.

At the conclusion of this investigation Peter was awarded at the National Police Federation Detective Awards at the Grand Hotel, Brighton in 2014. His team were awarded the South Wales Police Team of the Year Award in the same year.
