Rob has been at UWTSD since 2008. His background is an interdisciplinary one with formal qualifications in mathematics, music and photography which converge through his research and creative practice in moving image. He has extensive knowledge within visual effects and post-production practices and also in designing sound design for moving image.

Rob's current research interests are concerned with the phenomenology of temporality from Bergsonian and Proustian perspectives and how this pertains to the cinema of Andrei Tarkovsky.
SOLAS Project 2017-
The SOLAS is an on-going research project that is investigating planteray scale computation and the networked image. Rob is currently developing both a theoretical framework for the research and generating resulting image work from the process of exploration.
Rob has particular expertise in VFX education and was a recent contributor to the Skillset VFX Handbook (2016) publication.
