Before joining the University in 1996 Sian Sanders was a primary school teacher. She has taught on a number of programmes at the University – BA (Hons) Primary education, PGCE primary and currently teaches on the BA (Hons) Education Studies programme.

Sian Sanders had been heavily involved with the Sport Wales PE and School Sport (PESS) programme.She has previously taught on the PGCE primary course at UWIC Member of and then Chair of governors Dyffryn Afan Primary School 2008-2012

Sian Sanders has also contributed to the Foundation degree in Learning Support and the Graduate Diploma programmes.

She has a broad interest in all areas of education particularly child development. Her particular interest is in Physical Education and the important role it plays in all aspects of child development.

Sian Sanders is currently studying for a master’s degree in Childhood and Youth.
