Stacey-Jo’s primary role is the Co-ordination and delivery of BA (Hons) Theatre Design & Production degree. This includes making sure the teaching team is industry relevant and to make sure the students feel fully supported and challenged throughout their studies.

Stacey-Jo is a freelance designer, maker and Co - founder of the production company Headstrong Theatrical Services. Her professional industry work has given her the opportunity to work in a variety of production based roles with many exciting and dynamic companies including Welsh National Opera, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, Taking Flight Theatre and Fio. As well as maintaining and developing her industry links, Stacey is the Programme Director for the BA Theatre Design and Production course. Stacey-Jo is responsible for the design and implementation of the programme and works hard to ensure that all graduates are industry relevant and ready.

Stacey-Jo was also responsible for running the BTEC Production Arts course at Coleg Sir Gar in 2014 before becoming full time at UWTSD.

Stacey-Jo focuses on the delivery of the Principles of Design, Individual Practice and professional development, along with the practicality of the productions in the third year of the BA Theatre Design & Production and Acting degrees.

Stacey’s professional work includes designing for RCT theatres, Theatr Na N’Og, Taking Flight Theatre & Fio. Along with set construction for Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, Boomerang (S4C), Welsh National Opera, Scamp Theatre and many more.

So far this year Stacey-Jo has designed three shows based in South Wales. Firstly 'The Mountaintop' by Katori Hall for Fio Theatre Company (based in Cadiff & London), a fictional show about the last night of Martin Luther King Jr.'s life; secondly, an inclusive piece of children’s theatre ‘You’ve Got Dragons’ for Taking Flight Theatre company, and, last but not least, 'Greville's Whore' which was written by BA Acting Programme Director Dave Ainsworth.
