- BEng Motorsport Engineering Programme Director
- Team principle/advisor for the student race team, Team MCR
- Lecturer
I studied BEng Motorsport Engineering at undergraduate level before progressing to an MRes in Computational methods in engineering, driven by my interests in simulation. Following my academic studies I have worked with the Welsh Government, mapping and assessing vehicle testing facilities in Wales and worked as a design engineer on a steer-by-wire for niche vehicles project in collaboration with a cluster of companies.
I have also conducted structural analysis as a consultant for the oil and gas industry and continue to collaborate with companies on a range of engineering projects including the development of the MCR race car aerodynamics using computational techniques.
IMechE
My primary areas of interest are specifically related to motorsport and automotive vehicle design. These include chassis design, aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics. Modules taught include advanced computational methods, mechanical principles, aerodynamics, advanced vehicle dynamics and electronics.
Main areas of research interest include Aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics.
- Computational simulation, primarily computational fluid dynamics but also finite element analysis.
- Chassis and suspension system design.
I have worked with automotive and motorsport companies on collaborative research projects as well as conducting studies for companies from the oil and gas sector.
