Entries invited for the Annual Stuart Burrows International Voice Award

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David invites applications for the prestigious Stuart Burrows International Voice Award. The competition, established in honour of the world-renowned Welsh tenor, Stuart Burrows, aims to help young soloists progress in their musical careers.  The prize fund of £5,000 has attracted entries from all over the world over the years with the winner receiving £4,000 and the remainder shared between the other finalists.

Now in its eleventh year, the competition has attracted entrants from across the globe and is seen as one of the UK’s most important events for young singers. The judges in this year’s competition are Buddug Verona James, opera singer, ( and Nicholas Winter, Welsh National Opera.

The competition will take place at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) Carmarthen campus on Sunday, June 11th.  Preliminary rounds will be held in the day with the final during the evening.  Closing date for entries 5 May 2017.
