What are GCSE Equivalency Tests?

If you hold a Grade C in GCSE English Language or Mathematics and are successful in other aspects of the selection process, you will be offered a place with the condition of completing the equivalency course(s). The same is applicable in Science if you currently have  Grade D at GCSE. The equivalency grade is not transferrable to other institutions.

Can I be accepted without an Equivalency?

Yes, you will be able to take part in equivalency workshops before or during the programme.  However, you must pass the equivalency test in order to remain on the course.

I have a higher qualification. Do I still need an equivalency?

Your situation will be considered on a case by case basis. Please contact jessica.roberts@uwtsd.ac.uk for more information.

What type of support will I get?

Supporting materials will be shared with you and online workshop(s) with your tutor(s) will be available to assist in your preparation.

What if I don’t pass?

We will provide additional support and, if necessary, you can retake your exam.

How much does it cost?

All course materials will be provided and the workshops are included in your fees.
