The University of Wales Graduation Celebration is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our graduates. We are delighted to advise that the next celebration will be held at the Swansea Arena, Swansea on Tuesday 11th July 2023.

Registration for the 2023 Graduation Celebration is now open.
All students who studied at a collaborative centre and have been admitted to a University of Wales award by Vice-Chancellor’s decree by 9th June 2023 are invited to celebrate their achievements at this special event.
To register for the next University of Wales Graduation Celebration, please complete the expression of interest form - students must submit this form before registration closes on Friday 16th June 2023.
Graduates are advised not to plan their visit to Swansea until they have received confirmation that their request to attend has been successful.
Please note that the event is held to celebrate your academic achievements. Students are not formally admitted to their award at the Graduation Celebration and do not receive their certificate on the day. Certificates are sent to collaborative centres for distribution to graduates.

Ceremony times
The timetable for the ceremonies to be held on 11th July has been confirmed and can be seen on Ceremony timetable - July 2023.
Ceremony Timetable
All students who were eligible to attend the Graduation Celebration and confirmed their attendance will have received an email detailing the time of the Graduation Ceremony as well as a timetable for the day.
Students must ensure that on arrival they register at the University Registration desk during the allotted time. Please note that if you have not registered, you will not be permitted to enter the theatre.

For those students wishing to have official photographs taken on the day, we would advise that you register and collect your gown as early as possible to ensure that you have enough time for your picture to be taken before the ceremony. We cannot guarantee that there will be enough time following the ceremony.

Planning your trip to Swansea
We would advise that you do not plan your visit to Swansea until you have received confirmation that your request to attend the Graduation Celebration has been successful.
Please note that the University of Wales does not arrange accommodation on behalf of attendees. It is your responsibility to arrange your own accommodation.
Disabled access
Please let us know if you or any of your guests are using a wheelchair or have any special access requirements.
We will do our best to cater for your needs on the day. The Swansea Arena is an accessible place with facilities for disabled visitors. For more information please visit the Swansea Arena's Accessibility page.
Invitation letters for visa purposes
If you requested an invitation letter for visa purposes for yourself and/or your guest(s), you will receive a PDF copy of the letter by email. If you have not received the letter, please email graduation@wales.ac.uk.
The letter states the graduate's name ONLY and will state the number of guests requested.
The letter is addressed to 'Whom It May Concern’. It will provide the graduate's name but will not state the name(s) of any guest(s) attending.
Visa invitation letters are only issued to those graduates and guests who require a visa to enter the UK.
If you require one or more printed copies of the invitation letter for visa purposes, please contact the Graduation Team after you have received the PDF copy providing your full name, your 13 digit University Student Number (USN), the name of the collaborative centre you studied with and a postal address for the letter(s) to be sent to.
Tickets and programmes
TICKETS
Tickets for you and your guest(s) will be available for collection from the Graduation Celebration registration desk on the day of your celebration.
GUEST TICKETS
We have had a high volume of graduates requesting additional guest tickets. Please note that we can only guarantee two guest tickets. If there are spare seats available, additional guest tickets will be allocated on a first come first serve basis on the day of the ceremony. The University cannot guarantee the availability of spare seats and any additional guests will not be seated with the first two.
The Graduation Celebration is a family occasion and children are welcome to attend. Children who require a seat will need to be included within your guest list allocation.
PROGRAMMES
Printed programmes will be available on the day. The programmes will include the names of those attending the celebration and will be free of charge.

Parking at the Swansea Arena
Some on street parking is available at the Swansea Arena area, but there are several car parks located within close proximity of the Arena, located either side of Oystermouth Road. Information on parking locally can also be found on the Swansea Council website.
