Wales Global Academy
Taking the best of Wales to the world and bringing the best of the world to Wales.
The Wales Global Academy has been established jointly by the University of Wales and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David which, in its Strategic Plan 2017-2022, aims to provide a focus for a vision of taking the best of Wales to the world and bringing the best of the world to Wales.
It is the hub for a network of global institutions who are linked to the University in collaborative partnerships in its broadest sense.
The work of the Wales Global Academy is supported by three objectives that together contribute, going forward, to the Global Education Strategy of the University:
- To enhance Global Learning Opportunities for learners through working in partnership with others, whether based in the UK or overseas, to extend the global opportunities for learners to study programmes that lead to an award of the University or part of student mobility schemes.
- To develop a Global Campus concept and online platform to serve the Wales Global Academy in providing access to, and sharing of, resources, events, and to facilitate networking across global partnerships.
- To establish Wales Academic Chapters to create global subject-based communities for learners, staff and alumni that will contribute to curriculum development, research and scholarship, the provision of fellowship schemes for professional development, and to facilitate lifelong learning, underpinned by the conference facilities of the University and its partners, and the publication opportunities provided by the University of Wales Press.
