The University Web Services team incorporates a wide variety of experience and expertise, allowing the successful management of the University’s public-facing web presence and other associated websites.
The team are able to provide services that can promote the University online, with inclusion on the main site or the creation and management of individually “microsites” for other specific needs.
A well-developed web presence can:
- Promote the University services and events
- Increase traffic to content, including multimedia materials
- Improve accessibility and standards of information
Web Services Team
The Web Services team consists of the following members of staff:
Web Services Manager
Senior Web Development Officer
Web Content Officer
Web Development Assistant
The Web Service team manage and develop the University Content Management System (Terminalfour) and associated websites (WordPress), ensuring website governance, accessibility and standards are maintained to a high standard.
The team also provide website development services, including design, content, web forms, search, user experience (UX), and technical development.
To ensure the sites and site content maintain integrity and are receiving user traffic, the team uses Google Analytics website usage reports and other analytical tools, on a regular basis.
Training and Support
The Web Services team deliver Web Content Management training to users of the CMS TerminalFOUR (WCMS). Advice and guidance are provided on user experience design and search engine optimisation (SEO) to ensure best practices are being adhered to.
Additional training can be provided for:
- Machform creation (Online form system)
- Campaign Monitor (Email marketing)
- Other web-related systems
