Health and Care Management (Part-time) (DipHE)
This programme’s primary aim is to equip you to join the health and social care workforce. We strive to train and develop a health and social care workforce capable of meeting strategic governmental objectives and becoming prepared for a lifelong career within the health and care sector.
The Digital Health and Care discipline has responded to marked contextual and strategic change in the field by updating programmes to incorporate new elements of policy and skills and to increase your options in the rapidly evolving environment of health and social care.
You will be provided with a higher education qualification related to management within the health and social care sector, through progressive exploration of topics that have relevance to careers in the primary functions of management.
This programme offers an opportunity for personal and academic development, respecting and building on prior relevant study or vocational experience. We aim to enhance your ability to exercise investigative, reflective analytical and reasoning powers in context and to provide you with the knowledge and skills to extend your study and training post-graduation.
We also offer all modules through the medium of Welsh.

What you will learn
This programme aims to develop students’ ability to apply knowledge and understanding of the subject and service delivery needs in order to contribute to the enhancement, monitoring and analysis of the sector.
Its focus is to develop students’ intellectual skills to level five standard, including critical
evaluation, analysis, problem-solving and reflection. To also prepare students for the workplace by building and enhancing their transferable skills relating to, inter alia, communication, decision-making, research, interpretation, critical evaluation and their ability to turn theory into practice, including initiating and carrying out projects.
This programme aims to develop students’ employability by preparing and entering them for a career or career development in the health and social care field by developing professional
skills and providing the opportunity to apply them in vocationally relevant contexts.

Please note that every applicant is considered individually. We may also make offers based solely upon your life or work experience.
For applicants wishing to study Cert HE (one year) or Diploma HE (two year) qualifications, an offer will be made based upon your educational and employment experience.
For those wishing to study the BSc (three years) you will need to have obtained a minimum of 120 UCAS points.

Assessments include: essays, exams, reports, presentations, reflective blogs and professional portfolios.
You will be asked to utilise information technology communication and organisational skills for your assignments.

You are encouraged to continue or enter employment in the health, care or support sectors in order to enhance your studies. We recommend that you pay for the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) update option if you do not already have one in place. This however is not compulsory for the purposes of the programme.
