MBA graduate gains confidence and a global perspective
MBA International Business graduate, Meghna Balar, has celebrated her success at UWTSD London after moving from India to study in the UK. Meghna combined her existing expertise in web development, SEO and digital marketing with advanced business knowledge, while developing the confidence, resilience and global perspective that will support her future ambitions in business and entrepreneurship.
Choosing UWTSD London
Before moving to London, Meghna completed her first degree in Computer Applications in Vadodara, Gujarat, and gained professional experience in web development, SEO and digital marketing.
Wanting to better understand how businesses operate across international markets, Meghna chose UWTSD London after researching universities across the UK.
Meghna said: “I was looking for a university that would help me build both my academic knowledge and professional skills. After learning more about the MBA programme and the support offered to international students, I felt UWTSD was the right choice for me.”
Developing a global business perspective
The MBA International Business programme gave Meghna the opportunity to explore business strategy, management and international markets from a global perspective.
She said: “I was interested in learning how businesses operate across international markets. UWTSD gave me the opportunity to combine my technical background with broader business and management knowledge.”
A multicultural learning environment and the chance to apply theory to real-world business situations were among the highlights of her studies.
“The highlights for me were studying international business, strategy and management, and being able to apply academic knowledge to real-world business situations. Meeting people from different cultures and learning from their perspectives was also a very valuable experience.”
Growing through new challenges
Moving to a new country and adapting to a different education system brought its own challenges, particularly as Meghna balanced her studies with part-time work. However, she embraced the experience as an opportunity to grow.
She said: “Moving to a new country was one of the biggest adjustments, but I became more independent, developed strong time-management skills and established a consistent study routine. Those experiences helped me become more confident and resilient.”
Successfully completing her MBA remains her proudest achievement.
“As an international student, adapting to a new country, balancing my studies with part-time work, and overcoming personal and academic challenges was not easy. Reaching graduation made me realise how much I had grown, and it was a very emotional and rewarding moment for both me and my family.”
Looking ahead
Having graduated this summer, Meghna plans to continue developing her career in business, management and digital marketing, with the long-term ambition of launching her own business combining digital marketing and consultancy services.
Reflecting on her time at UWTSD, she believes the experience has prepared her for the future.
She said: “The experience has prepared me both personally and professionally for the next stage of my career.”
