Jayne Griffith-Parry
Background
Jayne has 40 years’ professional and teaching experience within a variety of senior management and hospitality roles, having an extensive network with leaders in Hospitality and Gastronomy.
Dr Jayne Griffith-Parry obtained her BSc from the University of Dundee, and MSc from the University of Manchester. Changing professional focus, she worked in senior management firstly within health, including HM QARANC, and then as a hospitality business owner undertaking a PhD at the University of Manchester continuing in hospitality and education for the 25 years following this.
Jayne is a Trustee of the World Young Chef Young Waiter Educational Foundation, a judge at national and international level and professionally consults across the sector, Jayne is also an ambassador for the Burnt Chef Project.
Jayne’s extensive experience underpins her leadership of Hospitality and Tourism Management at UWTSD within her role as Academic Director, where teaching is at the cutting edge of industry innovation.

Professional and/or Research Experience
At UWTSD, Jayne leads a team of Lecturers who focus on active partnerships and positive exposure of learners to the best opportunities. She is currently working with the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, within their College Community Programme, to facilitate UWTSD as a hub for Welsh colleges who offer Hospitality and Culinary courses. This also aligns with her work within the World Young Chef Young Waiter Educational Foundation, her role as a Disciple of Escoffier and informs sector policy and best practice within UK Hospitality and the Institute of Hospitality.
