Background

Dr Katie Sulivan holds a degree in Counselling Studies and Psychology (2014) and completed a PhD in Psychology in 2021. Her research focuses on stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination, with particular emphasis on issues related to race and gender. She has published extensively in these areas, contributing journal articles and book chapters that explore the psychological underpinnings and social impacts of bias and inequality. Katie is also an active collaborator on a number of large-scale international research projects exploring a variety of societal issues. 

Since 2015, Katie has been part of the Psychology department at UWTSD, initially as a Technical Tutor and, since 2020, as a Lecturer.

Professional and/or Research Experience

Dr Katie Sullivan's research is primarily situated within social and political psychology, with a particular focus on the use of experimental methodologies to investigate attitudes, stereotypes, and intergroup relations. She has led and collaborated on numerous research projects, both locally and internationally, and has shared her work at a wide range of academic conferences.

As a researcher in experimental psychology, Katie brings subject expertise and methodological knowledge to the study of social issues; her work ensures that empirical rigour and robust data collection are central to every project. Since completing her PhD, Katie has played a role in a variety of national and international research collaborations, advancing knowledge across multiple domains of social psychology.
