Background


Laura Emanuel began her career as a primary school teacher, where she taught for 15 years and was part of the senior leadership management team. During this time, she developed a strong passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing through innovative and creative approaches, which was recognised through a national teaching award. Laura is now proudly working as a Lecturer within Education at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, where she supports both undergraduate and postgraduate student teachers. She is fully committed to supporting students with Additional Learning Needs and also supporting all students to provide the best education for learners in their classes with Additional Learning Needs.

Professional and/or Research Experience

Throughout her career, Laura has been committed to bridging the gap between research and practice. She has contributed to the “My Primary School is at the Museum” project in collaboration with King’s College London, which continues to explore innovative models of learning beyond the classroom. Her Master’s research focused on the use of puppetry as a tool to support the teaching of Welsh as a second language. She is currently studying for a Doctorate in Education (EdD), with her research exploring the potential impact of school visits on teacher wellbeing and professional relationships in Welsh primary schools.
