Mari Powell
Background
Mari obtained a BA in French and German from the University of Wales, Cardiff. Following this, she gained a PGCE from the University of Wales, Swansea. Mari then worked as a Teacher in primary education for 20 years.
In 2019, Mari secured a place on the Welsh Language Sabbatical Course for Teachers (Cymraeg mewn Blwyddyn). She was able to improve her personal Welsh language skills and develop confidence when delivering Welsh as a second language to learners. The course enabled Mari to develop the way Welsh was used and taught at her school, with a focus on using Welsh across the curriculum and developing bilingualism.
