Background

Muhammad has four years of professional and teaching experience in higher education. With a background in industry, he has developed network with healthcare and public health leaders. 

He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy overseas, followed by a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Sunderland. He then gained three years of experience working in both hospital and community pharmacy before commencing a PhD in Health Studies at St Mary’s University. 

Muhammad also serves as the Weekend Coordinator for the CertHE programme. His research interests include adverse drug reactions, chronic disease management, and health inequalities. 

Drawing on his industry expertise and research, Muhammad brings valuable insights into his teaching across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, ensuring students benefit from learning that reflects the latest developments and innovations in the sector.

Professional and/or Research Experience

Muhammad is currently pursuing a PhD with a research focus on the management of type 2 diabetes through weight management. His work examines the challenges faced by patients in achieving effective weight control, with the aim of contributing valuable insights to the body of research and supporting improvements in the management of this chronic condition.
