Sue James
Background
Sue James is an experienced educator with over 30 years in the sector, spanning roles as teacher, lecturer, Head Teacher, SENCO, and Programme Manager.
Sue is a core member of the National Endorsement Panel for Professional Learning, contributing to the review and quality assurance of programmes for educators in Wales. In addition, part of the National Advisory Panel for Religion, Values and Ethics, helping shape curriculum and policy.
The Welsh Lead for the Five Nations Network, Sue supports cross-national collaboration on Citizenship Education.
Sue extends engagement with education, as a school governor and sits on Swansea’s Admissions Forum.
Sue is a passionate advocate for anti-racism in education. As Chair of BAMEed Wales, has led Anti-racist Education Festivals, engages with government to advance the goals of Anti-racist Wales 2030. She is also a member of the university’s Race Equality Charter Self-Assessment Team, supporting institutional change through reflection.
