This remarkable achievement highlights the programme’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and industry engagement. Over the past five years, it has secured seven major awards, been finalists for 20 national accolades, and celebrated four national event awards in just three years – a testament to the dedication of its teaching team and students.

Jacqui Jones, Programme Manager said: “Winning this award for the second consecutive year is a proud moment for our entire team. It reflects the creativity, resilience, and professionalism of our students and the dedication of our staff. Our goal has always been to provide real-world experiences and industry connections that prepare graduates to excel in the dynamic events sector, and this recognition shows we are achieving that.

“The success of the programme is built on strong partnerships with leading industry organisations and venues. Special thanks go to those who play a pivotal role in creating event opportunities for students, and to the academic staff for their unwavering support in academic and employability development.”

UWTSD also acknowledges the invaluable contributions of its Events & Industry Partners, particularly the team at Swansea Building Society Arena, for providing students with real-world experiences that enhance their professional skills.

The programme integrates industry placements, live event projects, and immersive digital technology into its curriculum. Students benefit from cutting-edge facilities such as the UWTSD Immersive Room, supported by a team of digital and technical specialists, ensuring graduates are equipped with the latest event management and digital skills.

Funding partners such as Taith, UWTSD Careers, and others play a vital role in enabling international field trips and placements, further enriching the student experience.

Professor Gareth Davies, Dean of the University’s Institute of Management and Health said: “This award is a testament to the outstanding commitment and vision of our Tourism & Events team. Their ability to consistently deliver an industry-leading learning experience, one that blends academic excellence with real-world application, places our students in an exceptional position to thrive. We are immensely proud of the programme’s continued national success, which reflects the strength of our partnerships, the dedication of our staff, and the professionalism of our students. This recognition reinforces our mission to empower future leaders in the events and tourism sectors.”
