Background
Dr Duxbury studied French at Liverpool University before qualifying as a secondary school teacher at Leicester University to teach French and English to Speakers of Other languages.
After teaching in France and Holland for a number of years he returned to the United Kingdom to study nursing, qualifying as an adult nurse at Swansea University before commencing a National Institute for Social Care and Health Research (NISCHR)-funded PhD in Health Research. Since completing the PhD in 2015,
Ben has worked as an adult nurse, as a research assistant at Swansea University and as a health/social care/nursing lecturer at the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David (UWTSD).

Professional and/or Research Experience
Dr Duxbury is a registered nurse, his main experience being in the post-operative sphere. He has a PhD in Health Science from Swansea University, which was a case study of the creation of an integrated health and social care team in south-west Wales, with data-collection combining interviews, focus groups, non-participant observation and documentary analysis.
He has worked as a research assistant on the Cognitive Functioning and Ageing project at Swansea University, conducting quantitative interviews, having taught a variety of health and social care/nursing modules at both Swansea University and UWTSD, and he is involved in the supervision of UWTSD master’s and doctoral students.
