Kara Lewis
Background
Kara has worked in the field of teaching Welsh throughout her career.
She has been lecturing at UWTSD since 2015 specialising in Welsh and language learning pedagogy, and co-ordinates various projects with Rhagoriaith and Peniarth. She leads Welsh in a Year modules, and is Programme Manager for the Postgraduate Certificate in Language Policy and Planning.
She has extensive experience of setting up and managing projects, for example in her role as Director of Canolfan Madog, University of Rio Grande, organising events, research projects and running international activity as well as managing an undergraduate Welsh and Welsh course programme.
For a time she was a lecturer in Subtitling at the University of Wales, Lampeter, and contributed to the Postgraduate Certificate in subtitling at UWTSD.
She has travelled extensively throughout North America lecturing, teaching and running workshops with organisations such as Cymdeithas Madog, NAASWCH and NAFOW. She continues these connections to this day.
