Resilience and Leadership: Roman Kadlubiec Graduates from UWTSD London After Transformative Journey
The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) London campus proudly celebrates the graduation of Roman Kadlubiec, a Czech-born student whose determination, leadership, and resilience have inspired peers and staff alike.

Roman, who has been living and working in the UK for several years, first joined UWTSD to pursue a Certificate of Higher Education in Skills for the Workplace (Business and Management). What began as a stepping stone soon evolved into a full academic journey, culminating today in a BA in Leadership and Management and Skills for the Workplace.
“I initially planned just to complete the certificate,” said Roman. “But after that, I thought, ‘Let’s go for the additional two years.’ The course combined practical leadership skills with academic insight and gave me the confidence to aim higher, both professionally and personally.”
Working full-time as an Estate Operative since 2017, Roman balanced his job and studies with remarkable commitment. Throughout the course, he applied what he learned directly to his workplace, improving team collaboration, streamlining processes, and demonstrating the kind of initiative the degree was designed to foster.
One of the highlights of his time at UWTSD was serving as Class Representative for three consecutive years. “It was a chance to build leadership skills in a real-world setting, supporting my classmates, finding answers to their questions, and acting as a link between students and lecturers,” he said.
But the road to graduation wasn’t always smooth. “During Level 4, I nearly gave up,” Roman admits. “It was tough managing everything. But thanks to the support of my classmates, I found the strength to keep going. That experience taught me resilience and how crucial encouragement, and teamwork really are.”
Now that he’s graduating, Roman has set his sights on bigger dreams. “I want to open a leisure centre, a space that combines my passion for fitness, business, and serving the community,” he said. He also hopes to continue his education with an MBA, ideally delivered in a flexible format for working professionals.
“I would absolutely recommend this course to others,” Roman adds. “UWTSD provided the academic quality I was looking for, but more importantly, it offered an environment of genuine support and encouragement. It proves that it’s never too late to invest in yourself.”
