  • Applications to this course must be made directly to the University of Wales Trinity Saint David using our online application form. Students under the age of 21 will have 64-80 UCAS points or equivalent. For those aged 21 or over, entry on to the course is by individual merit and largely determined by admissions interview performance, with experience often taken into consideration in lieu of formal qualifications. Cert HE courses are only open to home applicants. 

  • There are a variety of assessments such as presentations, projects, reports and blogs. There are no examinations.

  • There will be no mandatory additional costs to study beyond the payment of tuition. Students should be prepared to incur the basic costs associated with studying such as transport and any on-campus purchases including printing, coffees, snacks or other sundry items.

    Many students also choose to invest in study support tools such as laptops, tablets, and/or software over the course of their studies. Any activities related to study or student life which bear a cost beyond tuition will be optional, and the expense shall be clearly communicated to students at the time of registration.

  • This programme is specifically focused on employability, ensuring that students are able to use workplace experiences to inform their studies throughout each module.

    Admissions Advice and Support  

    We may make you a lower offer based on a range of factors, such as your background, experiences and individual circumstances. This is known as ‘Contextual Admissions’. For specific advice and support you can contact our enquiries team for more information about entry requirements.  

    English language requirements  

    If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.

    Visa and funding requirements  

    If you are not from the UK and you do not already have residency here, you may need to apply for a visa.  

    For courses of more than six months’ duration you will require a Student visa.  

    International students who require a Student visa should apply for our full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship.

    Please note students receiving US Federal Aid are only able to apply for in-person, on-campus programmes which will have no elements of online study.

    Os nad Saesneg yw eich iaith gyntaf, neu os nad ydych wedi astudio drwy gyfrwng y Saesneg o’r blaen, mae ein gofyniad arferol yn gyfwerth â sgôr o 6.0 y System Brofi Iaith Saesneg Rhyngwladol (Prawf Academaidd IELTS), heb gael llai na 5.5 ym mhob un o’r is-brofion. Rydym hefyd yn derbyn profion iaith Saesneg eraill.

    Ar gyfer cyrsiau sy’n fwy na chwe mis, bydd angen fisa myfyrwyr arnoch chi.  

    Dylai myfyrwyr rhyngwladol sydd angen fisa Myfyriwr wneud cais am ein cyrsiau llawn amser gan eu bod yn gymwys ar gyfer nawdd fisa Myfyriwr.

  • Caiff myfyrwyr eu hasesu drwy gyfuniad o daflenni gwaith, sesiynau ymarferol, cyflwyniadau, prosiectau ac arholiadau.​ Mae modiwlau’n aml yn cael eu hasesu trwy aseiniad, neu aseiniad ac arholiad Gall y marc terfynol ar gyfer rhai modiwlau gynnwys un neu fwy o ddarnau o waith cwrs a gafodd eu gosod a’u cwblhau yn ystod y modiwl.

  • Applications to this course must be made directly to the University of Wales Trinity Saint David using our online application form. Students under the age of 21 will have 64-80 UCAS points or equivalent. For those aged 21 or over, entry on to the course is by individual merit and largely determined by admissions interview performance, with experience often taken into consideration in lieu of formal qualifications. Cert HE courses are only open to home applicants. 

  • Students are assessed through a combination of worksheets, practicals, presentations, projects and examinations.  Module assessment is often by assignment, or assignment and examination. The final mark for some modules may include one or more pieces of coursework set and completed during the module.

  • There will be no mandatory additional costs to study beyond the payment of tuition. Students should be prepared to incur the basic costs associated with studying such as transport and any on-campus purchases including printing, coffees, snacks or other sundry items.

    Many students also choose to invest in study support tools such as laptops, tablets, and/or software over the course of their studies. Any activities related to study or student life which bear a cost beyond tuition will be optional, and the expense shall be clearly communicated to students at the time of registration.

  • This programme is specifically focused on employability, ensuring that students are able to use workplace experiences to inform their studies throughout each module.

    • ‘gyda Blwyddyn Sylfaen’. Mae’r llwybr hwn wedi’i gynllunio i roi cymorth ychwanegol i chi am ei fod yn rhoi blwyddyn ychwanegol (llawn amser) i chi o astudio wedi’i gefnogi.

The BSc (Hons) Applied Computing at our Birmingham Campus is an exciting and comprehensive programme designed for students who wish to explore a wide range of computing topics.     Alternative entry routes  

    If this course interests you, but you don’t have the entry requirements to join our bachelor’s degree you could consider:  

    • Computing Skills for the Workplace Certificate in Higher Education (CertHE) 

    • ‘with Foundation Year’. This route is designed to give you extra support as it provides you with an additional year (full-time) of supported study.   

    Once you successfully complete your Foundation Year studies, you will automatically advance onto the main degree.   

    • Certificate in Higher Education (CertHE). This is a one-year course and is equivalent to the first year of the three year, full-time bachelor’s degree.  

     Once you have successfully completed your CertHE studies, you will be eligible to progress for the remaining two years of the bachelor’s degree.  

    These are ideal routes if you are returning to study after a gap, or if you have not previously studied this subject, or if you did not achieve the grades you need for a place on this degree.

    English language requirements  

    If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.

    Visa and funding requirements  

    If you are not from the UK and you do not already have residency here, you may need to apply for a visa.  

    For courses of more than six months’ duration you will require a Student visa.  

    International students who require a Student visa should apply for our full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship.

    Please note students receiving US Federal Aid are only able to apply for in-person, on-campus programmes which will have no elements of online study.  

  • Students are assessed through a combination of worksheets, practicals, presentations, projects and examinations.  Module assessment is often by assignment, or assignment and examination. The final mark for some modules may include one or more pieces of coursework set and completed during the module. Project work is assessed by written report and presentation.

  • There will be no mandatory additional costs to study beyond the payment of tuition. 

    Students should be prepared to incur the basic costs associated with study such as transport and may wish to purchase coffees, snacks or other sundry items on campus.

    Many students also choose to invest in study support tools such as laptops over the course of their study, though this is not a programme requirement. Any activities related to study or student life which bear a cost beyond tuition will be optional, and the expense shall be clearly communicated to students at the time of registration.

What you will learn

At UWTSD, our teaching philosophy is centred around practical, hands-on learning and developing real-world skills.     Alternative entry routes  

    If this course interests you, but you don’t have the entry requirements to join our bachelor’s degree you could consider:  

    • Computing Skills for the Workplace Certificate in Higher Education (CertHE) 

    • ‘with Foundation Year’. This route is designed to give you extra support as it provides you with an additional year (full-time) of supported study.   

    Once you successfully complete your Foundation Year studies, you will automatically advance onto the main degree.   

    • Certificate in Higher Education (CertHE). This is a one-year course and is equivalent to the first year of the three year, full-time bachelor’s degree.  

     Once you have successfully completed your CertHE studies, you will be eligible to progress for the remaining two years of the bachelor’s degree.  

    These are ideal routes if you are returning to study after a gap, or if you have not previously studied this subject, or if you did not achieve the grades you need for a place on this degree.   

    Admissions Advice and Support  

    We may make you a lower offer based on a range of factors, such as your background, experiences and individual circumstances. This is known as ‘Contextual Admissions’. For specific advice and support you can contact our enquiries team for more information about entry requirements.  

    English language requirements  

    If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.

    Visa and funding requirements  

    If you are not from the UK and you do not already have residency here, you may need to apply for a visa.  

    For courses of more than six months’ duration you will require a Student visa.  

    International students who require a Student visa should apply for our full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship.

    Please note students receiving US Federal Aid are only able to apply for in-person, on-campus programmes which will have no elements of online study.  

  • Students are assessed through a combination of worksheets, practicals, presentations, projects and examinations.  Module assessment is often by assignment, or assignment and examination. The final mark for some modules may include one or more pieces of coursework set and completed during the module. Project work is assessed by written report and presentation.

  • There will be no mandatory additional costs to study beyond the payment of tuition. 

    Students should be prepared to incur the basic costs associated with study such as transport and may wish to purchase coffees, snacks or other sundry items on campus.

    Many students also choose to invest in study support tools such as laptops over the course of their study, though this is not a programme requirement. Any activities related to study or student life which bear a cost beyond tuition will be optional, and the expense shall be clearly communicated to students at the time of registration.

  • Our graduates have excellent employment prospects in the computing, teaching, lecturing and ICT industry, as well as in other areas of the economy. Recent statistics show that the vast majority are following their chosen career paths within six months of graduating.

    Graduates would seek positions in application development, business systems analysis, database development and administration, information systems consultancy and management, etc.

Wrth wraidd ein cwrs Rheoli Busnes mae ymrwymiad i gyfuno theori academaidd â chymhwysiad ymarferol. Ein nod yw meithrin meddwl beirniadol a datrys problemau ymarferol, gan sicrhau bod myfyrwyr yn ennill y sgiliau angenrheidiol i ffynnu ym myd busnes deinamig.      Unwaith y byddwch wedi cwblhau eich astudiaethau TystAU, byddwch yn gymwys i symud ymlaen i’r ddwy flynedd sy’n weddill o’r radd baglor.  

    Mae’r rhain yn llwybrau delfrydol os ydych yn dychwelyd i astudio ar ôl seibiant, neu os nad ydych wedi astudio’r pwnc hwn o’r blaen, neu os na wnaethoch chi gyflawni’r graddau sydd eu hangen i gael lle ar y radd hon.
