What you will learn

In this course, you’ll gain essential knowledge in anatomy, physiology, health and wellbeing, and the Welsh healthcare context. You’ll also develop personal, academic, and professional skills while exploring person-centred care and the fundamentals of health and social care.

  • These programmes are for applicants who hold either a level 2 or 3 qualification. However, each applicant is considered individually on merit, meaning that we can take your life and work experience or current job role into account.

    The UCAS tariff score is applicable to you if you have recently studied a qualification that has a UCAS tariff equivalence. UCAS provides a tariff calculator for you to work out what your qualification is worth within the UCAS tariff.

    We may make you a lower offer based on a range of factors, such as your background, experiences and individual circumstances. This is known as ‘Contextual Admissions’. For specific advice and support you can contact our enquiries team for more information about entry requirements.  

    English language requirements  

    If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.

    Visa and funding requirements  

    If you are not from the UK and you do not already have residency here, you may need to apply for a visa.  

    For courses of more than six months’ duration you will require a Student visa.  

    International students who require a Student visa should apply for our full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship.

    Please note students receiving US Federal Aid are only able to apply for in-person, on-campus programmes which will have no elements of online study.  

  • Exams are not heavily used in the programmes because the assessment focus is on the rehearsal of activities typically undertaken in the nursing and healthcare environment.

    Coursework is the primary assessment strategy.

    Coursework and practical tasks are set in a variety of formats; these include:

  • UWTSD prides itself on being a bilingual University and although there aren’t currently any modules available through the medium of Welsh on this course, in all cases students can submit written assessments through the medium of Welsh.

    English language requirements  

    If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.

    Visa and funding requirements  

    If you are not from the UK and you do not already have residency here, you may need to apply for a visa.  

    For courses of more than six months’ duration you will require a Student visa.  

    International students who require a Student visa should apply for our full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship.

    Please note students receiving US Federal Aid are only able to apply for in-person, on-campus programmes which will have no elements of online study.  

  • Exams are not heavily used in the programmes because the assessment focus is on the rehearsal of activities typically undertaken in the nursing and healthcare environment.

    Coursework is the primary assessment strategy.

  • These programmes are for applicants who hold either a level 2 or 3 qualification. However, each applicant is considered individually on merit, meaning that we can take your life and work experience or current job role into account.

    It is our intention that every single applicant receives an offer, and therefore, a route into healthcare.

    The UCAS tariff score is applicable to you if you have recently studied a qualification that has a UCAS tariff equivalence. UCAS provides a tariff calculator for you to work out what your qualification is worth within the UCAS tariff.

    English language requirements  

    If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.

Mae’r Diploma Addysg Uwch (TystAU) mewn Ymarfer Gofal Iechyd yn gwrs sydd wedi’i gynllunio ar gyfer y rheiny sydd am ddilyn gyrfa mewn gofal iechyd.  Mae’r rhaglen hon yn darparu cymhwyster cydnabyddedig ar lefel pump, gan roi’r wybodaeth a’r sgiliau sydd eu hangen arnoch ar gyfer amrywiaeth o rolau gofal iechyd. 

Mae ein cwrs yn canolbwyntio ar gyflwyno gofal tosturiol sy’n canolbwyntio ar yr unigolyn. Yn ogystal, byddwch yn archwilio cysyniadau biolegol, cymdeithasol a seicolegol a damcaniaethau sy’n sail i ymarfer gofal iechyd.

Byddwch yn cael gwybodaeth hanfodol mewn anatomeg, ffisioleg, iechyd a llesiant, a chyd-destun iechyd gofal yng Nghymru. Yn ogystal, byddwch yn datblygu sgiliau personol, academaidd a phroffesiynol tra’n archwilio gofal sy’n canolbwyntio ar yr unigolyn a hanfodion gofal iechyd a chymdeithasol. 

Yn eich blwyddyn gyntaf, byddwch yn adeiladu sylfaen gref mewn anatomeg ddynol, iechyd a llesiant, a gofal iechyd yng Nghymru. Byddwch hefyd yn dechrau datblygu sgiliau academaidd, proffesiynol a phersonol hanfodol a fydd yn eich paratoi ar gyfer gyrfa ym maes iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol.

  • These programmes are for applicants who hold either a level 2 or 3 qualification. However, each applicant is considered individually on merit, meaning that we can take your life and work experience or current job role into account.

    It is our intention that every single applicant receives an offer, and therefore, a route into healthcare.

    The UCAS tariff score is applicable to you if you have recently studied a qualification that has a UCAS tariff equivalence. UCAS provides a tariff calculator for you to work out what your qualification is worth within the UCAS tariff.

    English language requirements  

    If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.

    Visa and funding requirements  

    If you are not from the UK and you do not already have residency here, you may need to apply for a visa.  

    For courses of more than six months’ duration you will require a Student visa.  

    International students who require a Student visa should apply for our full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship.

    Please note students receiving US Federal Aid are only able to apply for in-person, on-campus programmes which will have no elements of online study.  

  • Exams are not heavily used in the programmes because the assessment focus is on the rehearsal of activities typically undertaken in the nursing and healthcare environment.

    Coursework is the primary assessment strategy.

    Coursework and practical tasks are set in a variety of formats; these include:

    • Role play (e.g. mock nursing interviews with heads of industry)

  • UWTSD prides itself on being a bilingual University and although there aren’t currently any modules available through the medium of Welsh on this course, in all cases students can submit written assessments through the medium of Welsh.

Beth fyddwch chi'n ei ddysgu

Mae ein rhaglen Addysg a Gofal Blynyddoedd Cynnar yn trwytho myfyrwyr ym mhob agwedd o ddatblygiad plant ifanc, gan bontio profiadau ymarferol gyda damcaniaethau plentyndod cynnar.  Dewch i ddysgu sut mae theori yn cyfuno ag arfer gan eich caniatáu i feithrin twf cyfannol mewn dysgwyr ifanc.

Yn eich blwyddyn gyntaf o’r rhaglen Addysg a Gofal Blynyddoedd Cynnar, byddwch yn archwilio’r egwyddorion sylfaenol sy’n sail i addysg Blynyddoedd Cynnar.  Byddwch yn cymryd rhan mewn trafodaethau grŵp ysgogol a gweithdai rhyngweithiol sydd wedi’u cynllunio i’ch cyflwyno i gysyniadau hanfodol mewn Astudiaethau Blynyddoedd Cynnar.  Byddwch yn dechrau adeiladu sylfaen gadarn o wybodaeth ar draws ystod amrywiol o bynciau perthnasol mewn darlithoedd ysgogol.   Bydd y pwyslais ar ddysgu ymarferol yn eich darparu â sgiliau ymarferol i gymhwyso damcaniaethau’n effeithiol i’ch arfer eich hun, gan eich paratoi ar gyfer ystod o rolau Blynyddoedd Cynnar.

Gan adeiladu ar eich gwybodaeth,  bydd eich ail flwyddyn yn y rhaglen Addysg a Gofal Blynyddoedd Cynnar yn dyfnhau eich dealltwriaeth ac yn ehangu eich safbwyntiau.  Cymerwch ran mewn gweithdai ymarferol a chyfleoedd ar gyfer ymweliadau astudio arbenigol sy’n archwilio i faterion cymhleth a thueddiadau sy’n dod i’r amlwg mewn Addysg Blynyddoedd Cynnar.  Ymgysylltwch â siaradwyr gwadd, arbenigwyr a fydd yn rhannu eu syniadau am bolisïau a datblygiadau cyfredol o fewn y sector Blynyddoedd Cynnar.  

Efallai y bydd cyfleoedd am ymweliadau preswyl dewisol o fewn y DU a thramor. Bydd y rhain yn cynnig profiadau diwylliannol amhrisiadwy ac yn cyfoethogi ymhellach eich dealltwriaeth o arferion byd-eang wrth i chi astudio i ennill Statws Ymarferydd Blynyddoedd Cynnar.

  • Mae’r Blynyddoedd Cynnar yn annog ac yn gwerthfawrogi ceisiadau gan fyfyrwyr sy’n dychwelyd i addysg, gan y bydd ganddynt brofiadau a sgiliau bywyd a allai gefnogi eu mynediad i’r radd. 

    Yn gyffredinol, bydd myfyrwyr wedi ennill neu y byddant yn gweithio tuag at, cymhwyster perthnasol ar gyfer gofal plant/addysg lefel 3 fel NNEB, CACHE, BTEC, NVQ, lefel A. Fodd bynnag, mae profiad arall hefyd yn werthfawr. Byddant hefyd yn gweithio neu’n gwirfoddoli’n rheolaidd mewn lleoliad blynyddoedd cynnar neu weithle sy’n darparu gwasanaethau i blant a theuluoedd ifanc. 

    Bydd yn ofynnol i bob ymgeisydd ddarparu dogfen ddatgeliad well boddhaol gan y Gwasanaeth Datgelu a Gwahardd (DBS). 

    Cyngor a Chymorth Derbyn  

    Efallai y byddwn yn gwneud cynnig is i chi yn seiliedig ar ystod o ffactorau, megis eich cefndir, eich profiadau a’ch amgylchiadau unigol. Gelwir hyn yn ‘Derbyniadau Cyd-destunol’. 

    Os nad oes gan eich cymhwyster gyfwerth tariff UCAS, os nad oes gennych gymwysterau mynediad traddodiadol neu os oes gennych ddysgu blaenorol achrededig, cysylltwch â’n tîm ymholiadau wrth i ni seilio penderfyniadau ar ein hasesiad ein hunain o gymwysterau, gwybodaeth a phrofiad gwaith blaenorol.  

    Llwybrau mynediad amgen  

    Os ydy’r cwrs hwn o ddiddordeb i chi, ond nid yw’r gofynion mynediad gennych i ymuno â’n gradd baglor, gallech ystyried:  

    • ‘gyda Blwyddyn Sylfaen’. Mae’r llwybr hwn wedi’i gynllunio i roi cymorth ychwanegol i chi am ei fod yn rhoi blwyddyn ychwanegol (llawn amser) i chi o astudio wedi’i gefnogi.   

    Unwaith y byddwch chi wedi cwblhau eich astudiaethau Blwyddyn Sylfaen, byddwch yn symud ymlaen yn awtomatig i’r brif radd.  

    • Tystysgrif Addysg Uwch (TystAU). Cwrs un flwyddyn yw hwn ac mae’n gyfwerth â blwyddyn gyntaf y radd baglor tair blynedd, llawn amser.  

    Unwaith y byddwch wedi cwblhau eich astudiaethau TystAU, byddwch yn gymwys i symud ymlaen i’r ddwy flynedd sy’n weddill o’r radd baglor.  

    Mae’r rhain yn llwybrau delfrydol os ydych yn dychwelyd i astudio ar ôl seibiant, neu os nad ydych wedi astudio’r pwnc hwn o’r blaen, neu os na wnaethoch chi gyflawni’r graddau sydd eu hangen i gael lle ar y radd hon.  

    Gofynion Iaith Saesneg  

    Os nad Saesneg yw eich iaith gyntaf, neu os nad ydych wedi astudio drwy gyfrwng y Saesneg o’r blaen, mae ein gofyniad arferol yn gyfwerth â sgôr o 6.0 y System Brofi Iaith Saesneg Rhyngwladol (Prawf Academaidd IELTS), heb gael llai na 5.5 ym mhob un o’r is-brofion. Rydym hefyd yn derbyn profion iaith Saesneg eraill.

    Gofynion fisa ac ariannu 

    Os nad ydych o’r DU ac nid oes gennych breswyliad yma yn barod, efallai bydd angen i chi wneud cais am fisa.  

    Ar gyfer cyrsiau sy’n fwy na chwe mis, bydd angen fisa myfyrwyr arnoch chi.  

    Dylai myfyrwyr rhyngwladol sydd angen fisa Myfyriwr wneud cais am ein cyrsiau llawn amser gan eu bod yn gymwys ar gyfer nawdd fisa Myfyriwr.   

    I gael yr holl wybodaeth, darllenwch y dudalen gwneud cais am fisa a chanllawiau.    

    Sylwch mai dim ond ar gyfer rhaglenni wyneb yn wyneb, ar gampws, heb elfennau astudio ar-lein y gall myfyrwyr sy’n derbyn Cymorth Ffederal yr Unol Daleithiau wneud cais.  

    Bydd rhaid i bob ymgeisydd ddarparu dogfen datgeliad manylach boddhaol gan y Gwasanaeth Datgelu a Gwahardd (DBS).

  • Mae ein holl raglenni yn cael eu hasesu yn hollol gan waith cwrs. Does dim arholiadau. 

    Rydym wedi darganfod bod defnyddio ystod amrywiol o ddulliau asesu yn cynyddu sgiliau cyflogadwyedd. 

    Mae cyflogwyr yn chwilio am raddedigion sy’n datrys problemau ac sydd ag ystod o sgiliau trosglwyddadwy. Mae asesiadau yn rhoi cyfleoedd i ddatblygu sgiliau fel y gallu i weithio mewn tîm, cael cyfathrebu llafar ac ysgrifenedig effeithiol wrth ddefnyddio ystod o ddulliau rhannu gwybodaeth, gan gynnwys papurau briffio, posteri academaidd, dadleuon grŵp a thrafodaethau proffesiynol. 

    Mae yna hefyd gyfleoedd ar gyfer profiadau gwaith ymarferol, gan gefnogi cyflogadwyedd, datblygiad proffesiynol a gyrfaoedd. 

  • Astudio drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg neu Ddwyieithog 

    Mae’r Drindod Dewi Sant yn ymfalchïo yn y ffaith ei bod yn Brifysgol ddwyieithog ac mae modiwlau ar y cwrs hwn ar gael i’w hastudio drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg naill ai’n llawn neu’n rhannol. Ym mhob achos bydd myfyrwyr yn gallu cyflwyno asesiadau ysgrifenedig drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg.

    Os byddwch yn dewis astudio’ch cwrs naill ai’n llawn neu’n rhannol drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg, efallai y byddwch yn gymwys i wneud cais am ysgoloriaethau a bwrsariaethau i’ch cefnogi gyda’ch astudiaethau.

    Mae argaeledd modiwlau cyfrwng Cymraeg yn cael ei adolygu’n rheolaidd a gall amrywio bob blwyddyn yn dibynnu ar staffio, diddordebau ymchwil, amserlenni, galw myfyrwyr, ac isafswm niferoedd cofrestru, felly ni ellir gwarantu modiwlau penodol bob amser, cysylltwch â ni i drafod mwy.

    Cyfleoedd Cymraeg a Chymreig

    A ninnau’n brifysgol flaenllaw yng Nghymru, rydym yn falch o gynnig gwasanaethau cymorth a neuaddau preswyl arbennig i fyfyrwyr Cymraeg eu hiaith, gan annog ymdeimlad o gymuned a chartref oddi cartref, gan gynnwys ymuno â chlybiau a chymdeithasau i siaradwyr Cymraeg a dod yn aelod o’n cangen fywiog y Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.

    Cyfleoedd i Ddysgu Cymraeg

    Rydym hefyd yn darparu amrywiaeth o gyfleoedd i ddysgu a datblygu eich sgiliau Cymraeg.

  • Mae’n rhaid i fyfyrwyr wneud cais am, a chael Gwiriad y Gwasanaeth Datgelu a Gwahardd (DBS) Y Drindod Dewi Sant. Mae’r ffi’n cael ei bennu gan y DBS; ar hyn o bryd, y ffi yw tua £66.

    Mae’n rhaid i fyfyrwyr gael cyfwerth â 700 awr o brofiad ymarferol mewn lleoedd fel lleoliadau blynyddoedd cynnar. Bydd costau teithio a chostau lluniaeth yn sgil hyn.

    Efallai y bydd rhaid i fyfyrwyr dalu costau ychwanegol gan fod rhaid iddynt fynychu rhai darlithoedd modwl gyda dillad addas ar gyfer astudio yn yr awyr agored.

    Mae’r Blynyddoedd Cynnar yn trefnu profiadau astudio gorfodol a gweithgareddau cyfoethogi i fyfyrwyr. Bydd y rhageln yn talu am y costau teithio ac astudio a gyfyd yn sgil hyn. Fodd bynnag, ar gyfer rhai ymweliadau, bydd rhaid i fyfyrwyr gyflenwi eu lluniaeth eu hunain.

    Yn ogystal â hyn, mae’r Blynyddoedd Cynnar yn trefnu cyfleoedd dewisol i fyfyrwyr gael cymwysterau ychwanegol yn ystod rhan olaf eu rhaglen, er enghraifft Iechyd a Diogelwch, Amddiffyn. Bydd y rhain yn gofyn i’r myfyrwyr dalu costau; a chaiff y gost ei phennu gan y darparwr. 

    Mae’r rhaglen hefyd yn cynnig cyfleoedd dewisol i fyfyrwyr i gymryd rhan mewn ymweliadau tu hwnt i’r campws er enghraifft Caerdydd, Llundain, Sweden a Chanada. Rhaid i’r myfyrwyr dalu cost yr ymweliadau dewisol hyn.

  • Efallai eich bod yn gymwys i gael arian i helpu i gefnogi eich astudiaethau.  I ddysgu am ysgoloriaethau, bwrsarïau a chyfleoedd ariannu eraill sydd ar gael, ewch i’n hadran Bwrsarïau ac Ysgoloriaethau<.

  • Mae’r rhaglen Statws Ymarferydd Blynyddoedd Cynnar hon wedi’i chynnwys yn rhestr Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru o gymwysterau gofynnol i weithio o fewn y sector blynyddoedd cynnar a gofal plant yng Nghymru. Bydd gan fyfyrwyr sy’n cwblhau’r rhaglen hon yn llwyddiannus radd yn ogystal â thrwydded i arfer mewn ystod o rolau arfer a rheoli mewn lleoliadau blynyddoedd cynnar.

    Mae gan y rhaglen gyfradd cyflogadwyedd uchel ar gyfer graddedigion, sydd mewn gwaith o fewn chwe mis i gwblhau’r radd. Mae nifer sylweddol o raddedigion hefyd yn mynd ymlaen i astudiaethau ôl-raddedig yn y brifysgol hon a rhai eraill.

    Mae’r Gyfadran yn cynnig gradd MSc Rheolaeth Ariannol i’r rheini sy’n dymuno astudio ymhellach.  Mae’r astudio hyblyg ar y rhaglen yn rhoi’r gallu i fyfyrwyr lywio’u hastudiaethau yn ôl eu huchelgais o ran gyrfa ac amgylchiadau personol.  Mae integreiddio myfyrwyr o’r DU, yr UE a myfyrwyr rhyngwladol ynghyd â chymdeithas cyn-fyfyrwyr gryf yn caniatáu rhwydweithio a sefydlu cyfeillgarwch hirdymor.
