What was your favourite thing about Swansea campus?

The workshops are what originally sold it for me to study at UWTSD and are now my second home. The tools we have access to, alongside the staff and their genuine approach makes it such an enjoyable environment to be in and makes working much less stressful being able to speak to the lecturers and technicians at any time.

Why did you choose UWTSD?

The knowledge and passion for motorcycles and racing given off by the staff at the open day really made me feel welcome, and I still remember walking into the workshop for the first to see all the bikes, engines and ongoing projects.

What do you enjoy outside your studies?

Outside my studies, I work in national and international championship race teams as a data engineer. Other than this, I enjoy exploring the surrounding areas of Swansea, like the beaches and cliffs around Gower.

What are you doing now, how did you get to where you are and how has your course helped you in your career?

Once graduated, I hope to make my way within racing as an engineer, becoming a project leader or crew chief. The constant chase to make motorcycles perform is what drives me, so to do that day-in day-out would be a dream.

What was your favourite thing about your course?

I have really enjoyed being a part of the student motorcycle race team, having helped establish it in 2023. To go through the challenges of running the NSF250R along with some of my best mates in the team was super enjoyable and allowed us to try new things with little pressure. Inside of my studies, some of our motorcycle dynamics lectures have really opened my eyes and inspired new ideas for my own projects and work tools.

Would you recommend UWTSD and why?

I would recommend this course to anyone who is passionate about motorcycles/motorsport. As long as you are willing to work hard on the course work, it will reward you in experience, opportunity and enjoyment through the workshops and race teams.
