A student from Bangladesh who came to the UK to pursue his passion for cybersecurity is celebrating graduating with Distinction from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s (UWTSD) London campus this month.
Rezuan Islam, who now lives in London, has completed an MSc in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, combining academic excellence with an impressive record of research achievements during his studies.
After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering in Bangladesh, Rezuan chose UWTSD for its industry-focused curriculum, practical learning environment and strong reputation in cybersecurity education.
Throughout the course, he particularly enjoyed the hands-on experience in the University’s Digital Forensics laboratory, where students work with industry-standard forensic equipment and software alongside expert academic support.
Research became a major highlight of his postgraduate studies. His MSc dissertation has been published in the UWTSD Journal, which is indexed by Google Scholar, and he has also submitted two further research papers to IEEE international conferences with the support of his academic supervisors.
Rezuan said: “Moving from Bangladesh to the UK was both exciting and challenging, but the support of my lecturers, family and friends helped me overcome every obstacle. Graduating with Distinction, publishing my research and developing my technical skills have been some of the proudest achievements of my life.”
He added: “I would highly recommend the MSc Cyber Security and Digital Forensics programme to anyone interested in cybersecurity. It provides an excellent balance of academic knowledge, practical laboratory experience and research opportunities, while the lecturers genuinely care about their students’ success.”
Rezuan plans to continue researching cybersecurity and artificial intelligence while pursuing opportunities in the UK technology sector, with the long-term ambition of completing doctoral studies and contributing to innovative cybersecurity solutions in both industry and academia.
