Entitled Leading Beyond Borders: People, Place & Purpose, the event brings together Commonwealth Young Leaders, experienced practitioners, academics, and global voices for an afternoon of inspiration, dialogue, and connection. Bookings are now open via Eventbrite

The event is being organised by Angelika Jasnos, a final-year International Travel and Tourism Management student who has recently been appointed as a Commonwealth Young Leader. As part of her leadership role, Angelika has brought this prestigious international gathering to Swansea, welcoming Young Leaders from across the Commonwealth to Wales and to the University.

They will focus on people, place, and purpose, highlighting personal leadership journeys, lessons learned, and reflections on how meaningful leadership can transcend borders, cultures, and generations. A key emphasis of the event is amplifying young voices, while creating space for confidence, collaboration, and intergenerational dialogue.

The event reflects values that are central to our mission as a university, collaboration, inclusivity, and leadership that makes a positive difference locally and globally.

“This event not only showcases the strength of our international partnerships but also highlights the impact that our students and graduates can have on the world stage. We are especially proud of Angelika Jasnos for helping to bring this prestigious gathering to Wales and for exemplifying the kind of confident, values-driven leadership we seek to nurture at UWTSD.

“By bringing together young leaders, experienced practitioners, and global voices in the heart of Swansea, we are creating space for meaningful dialogue, shared learning, and connections that will extend far beyond borders.”
