The Academy of Sport aims to support students involved in high performance sport while they study.
Got a thing for competitive sports? Stay at the top of your game during your degree with the UWTSD Academy of Sport, and create the university experience you’ve always dreamed of.
Get professional-level coaching and strength and conditioning training, as well as advice on nutrition, diet and lifestyle. But that’s not all. Access our incredible sports facilities, with regular opportunities to compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) leagues, events and championships. And you’ll benefit from the expertise of our experienced staff and coaching pros – those who know what it takes to succeed in the world of sport.
Men's and Women's Football, Men's and Women's Rugby, and Women's Netball are the focus team sports of the UWTSD Academy of Sport. But we’ll also support you to pursue whichever others get you excited, like athletics, cycling and even triathlons.
Currently the sport academy services are currently based at our South West Wales campuses. However, if there are high performance student athletes that could represent the University at the BUCS championships, please contact the academy. There may be the option of accessing training programmes, nutrition advice and further support remotely, depending on the chosen sport.
