What was your favourite thing about the Swansea campus?
Dynevor campus is the perfect central location to Swansea, everything is within walking distance. Home to a beautiful courtyard situated at the back of the building, abundant with seating and greenery is both inspiring and tranquil and what I made the most of on sunny days studying in Swansea!
Why did you choose UWTSD?
After seeing the breadth of facilities and possibilities the university had to offer after visiting an open day, and Swansea being my hometown, it was a no brainer.
What did you enjoy outside your studies?
Outside of studies, I love to visit galleries, experience different cultures and immerse myself in flora and fauna. I would highly recommend Singleton Botanical Gardens when in bloom.
What do you hope to do when you graduate?
I hope to carry on curating my signature style by, establishing myself and practice as a brand, taking on industry experience in the process.
What was your favourite thing about your course?
The Surface Pattern and Textiles course really is an immersive experience into the print world. The level of technical skill and knowledge you acquire is set at industry standard. You are encouraged to be ambitious. My favourite part of the course was the opportunity to collaborate on live briefs with some amazing companies such as, Rolls Royce, MONKI and Patternbank.. Just to name a few.
Would you recommend UWTSD and why?
Yes, the level of extracurricular support, guidance, and breadth of knowledge you acquire whilst studying here is second to none.
Clearing experience
After working an office job for 2 years, it was during lockdown I realised that life was too short not to follow your passions. So, on clearing day, I emailed Surface Pattern & Textiles programme director Georgia McKie, we had an informal telephone interview where we discussed my education history, and she told me all about the course. I was so excited to begin this new journey. That day, I was accepted to study at the university and the rest is history! My journey is a testament to realising it’s never too late to follow your dreams.

The students are no stranger to dynamic live briefs as part of their learning experience, and it is not the first time they have collaborated with a Swedish fashion brand.
