Sustainable Construction Careers Fair

On the 6th March our Sustainable Construction Careers event takes place at our Swansea Campus.  It provides a meeting place for students from the School of Architecture, Construction and the Environment as well as further education construction learners to meet a wide range of companies representing architecture, construction, the environment and sustainable energy .
As its Women in Construction Week we’re also taking the opportunity to raise awareness of the numerous career opportunities available in the construction industry.   We are delighted to have 4 guest speakers who will share their career journeys into construction and their experiences of working in the sector.

We welcome;

Dr Alissa Flatley, Senior Lecturer in Coastal Conservation and Environmental Management at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David
Rachel Cook, Head of Networks, Woodknowledge Wales
Lindsay Richards, Managing Director of The Richards Partnership Ltd; Chartered Quantity Surveyor; Chartered Building Engineer;
Michelle Murillo, Part 1 Architecture Graduate BSc (Hons) Architecture, UWTSD

Alongside our guest speakers visitors will also be able to choose from a varied programme of activities including;

  *   Demonstrations of strawbale construction
  *   An opportunity to sit in a simulated electric vehicle? (don’t know enough about this)
  *   Build a house using virtual materials
  *   Play UWTSD’s Lampeter Campus Minecraft Game

Goody bags and refreshments available throughout the event.
