BA Perfformio students at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) are delighted to announce an exciting partnership with Tafwyl 2026, one of Cardiff’s most significant cultural festivals.

Cet Haf does a workshop with BA Perfformio students

As part of this collaboration, students have been tasked with creating an original piece of street theatre designed to entertain and engage the thousands of people who attend Tafwyl each year. The project offers students a rare opportunity to work within a real-world professional context early in their training, developing work for a large-scale public audience.

The BA Perfformio course prides itself on offering practical, industry-facing experiences that prepare students for professional creative careers. This partnership exemplifies that ethos, allowing students to apply the skills they are developing in rehearsal rooms directly to a live cultural event in the heart of the city.

Angharad Lee, Programme Director at UWTSD, said:

“This is a brilliant opportunity for our students to put the skills they are learning in class into practice. It gives them the chance to collaborate not only with each other, but also with creatives who are at the top of their game.

“We have engaged the brilliance of Cêt Haf who has worked extensively with KITCH N’ SYNC to help kick-start their ideas and to instil the confidence and knowledge needed to develop an idea from its very first seed through to practical application in a real-world context.

“Tafwyl is such an important cultural event and UWTSD is proud to be a part of it.”

Cêt Haf is a multidisciplinary performer, movement director, and choreographer from Aberystwyth with over fourteen years of experience. Cêt specialises in dance and enjoys weaving together her talents in movement, acting, writing, and illustration in her work.

She is passionate about creating work that brings the imagination to life and is particularly interested in exploring character through movement and movement through character. At the heart of her inspiration, curiosity, and desire to create memorable artistic experiences for diverse audiences is her interest in music, stories, and people.

Collaborating with experienced artists and responding to the vibrant, Welsh-language-led environment of Tafwyl, students will explore performance-making that is accessible, playful, and responsive to public space.

The project reflects UWTSD’s ongoing commitment to nurturing confident, creative practitioners who are ready to contribute meaningfully to Wales’s cultural landscape.

The resulting street theatre performance will premiere at Tafwyl 2026, bringing fresh, original work created by the next generation of Welsh performers directly to the festival’s audiences.
